Emotional Recovery for Challenging Pregnancies, Births & Postpartum Periods:
A Three-Part Therapeutic Group
We help new parents, struggling with overwhelm, to experience the
postpartum connection and joy that they deserve.
How do we do that?
We’ve broken our amazing 8-week therapeutic group program into three parts so that relief is available no matter your budget or time demands. Together, all three parts help you learn the LIFE SKILLS needed for processing challenging (and even traumatic) experiences so you feel more calm and present.
Why a group?
How often have you heard, already, “You’re fine. The baby’s fine.” (Subtle subtext, snap out of it) when things feel anything BUT fine?
This is a group of parents who are going through the same things. We GET IT, and we can support one another so much better because of it. Groups make it easy to connect with new friends, new skills, and new insights about ourselves at a financially more attractive price point.
Simply put, these life skills will help you can manage future traumas and challenges with confidence!
PLEASE NOTE: These 3 parts can be taken at any point, even 6 months down the road, as long as you take them in order. Parts 1 and 2 MUST be taken in order to best prepare you for the EMDR-based (the gold standard for trauma and trigger) reprocessing in weeks 5-8.
But first, Who is this for?

-
Physically draining pregnancies

If it was challenging for you, it fits.
If your pregnancy, birth, or postpartum period was challenging to you, it’s a fit, EVEN if the birth was 10 years ago. Our Bodymind stores these memories in an enduring and active way that keeps them strong even years later (if you revisit it), as a protective survival mechanism. Essentially, we want to be easily “at the ready” if similar danger shows up on our doorstep again, and the Bodymind assures that “protection” for life until it is intentionally reset so that it recognizes the danger is past. (This group is how you reset it!)
Note: Individual birth stories will not be shared in the group, but the impact the story has on our current selves and our ability to recall our births in an empowered way will be central to the process. No judgment. No fear that your experience is “too big” or “too small” for the group. Pure support for our current realities, which also happens to be the scientific approach for creating the change you need!
ABOUT PART ONE (2 meetings):
Two weeks (1.5 hours per meeting) dedicated to learning how to calm the nervous system using mindfulness and body movement—the kind of deep nervous system care that makes a true difference. So many people say, “my therapist told me to breathe, but it doesn’t work for me.” The process we teach you shows you the most effective early interventions so that breathing does what it was supposed to do! Then learn how to reverse anxiety and discontent through identifying the associated emotions and thoughts that your mind has linked to this body experience. Discover processes to start addressing mind and body triggers, complete with homework to start implementing these strategies and find the minimum effective dose of the right calming strategies for your bodymind. This class is tailored to each individual using education and daily homework practices where you try on different approaches to find what combination works to bring YOU the calm you need.

ABOUT PART THREE (4 Meetings):
EMDR is a one-to-one therapy that has recently been restructured for use in a group setting. EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is one of the most effective ways to communicate with the mind and body, letting them know that a challenge or trauma is in the past and that we no longer need to carry the associated triggers for survival. Essentially, it is a reset button for the bodymind so that you no longer have to carry the anxiety, depression, blahs and activations that have been part of this time. Then, we finish the program by creating a SOLID self-care plan that will help you to continuously digest stressors with confidence—leaving feeling calm, connected, and capable.
How do you know if you need Part Three of the program?
- There are moments (or periods) of time that you can point to where you feel like you have never been the same since.
- You avoid certain memories or triggers (like pregnant moms or the street your hospital was on).
- You avoid recalling certain aspect of your experience for fear of the emotional toll.
- Aaaaaand we will be figuring out your individual needs during Parts One and Two.
